Lebanese Army refutes Israeli claims of arms in civilian home

TEHRAN, Dec. 14 (MNA) – The Lebanese Army says it inspected the building in Yanouh twice amid Israeli threats and found no weapons inside, refuting Israeli claims of their presence.

The Lebanese Army reported that it conducted a detailed inspection of a building in the town of Yanouh with the owner’s consent on Saturday, in coordination with the Mechanism Committee overseeing the ceasefire agreement and the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL). The army reported that no weapons or ammunition were found inside the building, refuting Israeli statements claiming otherwise, a report by Al-Mayadeen said.

The statement added that following the inspection, an Israeli threat was issued to target the same building as part of ongoing Israeli attacks on the country. According to the statement, a military patrol immediately returned to the site, re-inspected it, and again found no weapons or ammunition, then remained stationed around the building to prevent its targeting.

The army expressed appreciation for the trust and cooperation of local residents and thanked the Mechanism Committee for its coordination, which helped prevent the threat from being materialized, noting that army personnel remain deployed around the building.

The Lebanese Army emphasized that such incidents highlight the importance of national solidarity with the military, adherence to UN Security Council Resolution 1701, and coordination with the Mechanism Committee and UNIFIL.
